The Capillary Polishing Station, or CPS, is one little item that can really make a huge difference in your lab. Right now, pretty much all the instrumetns are the same level of sensitivity. There is not much you can do in improve ion detection once it is in the instrument, leaving us the front end sample delivery as the most cost effective area to improve. The CPS allows near perfect glass capillary ends to be quickly made in the lab as needed. This imparts a huge advantage to the CPS user, as system carry over is reduced, while improving peak shape and response as well as system robustness.
