ESN Bilkent

What is ESN Bilkent? ESN is the semi-professional sounding acronym of the Erasmus Student Network. Founded in 1990 to support and help develop the concept of student exchange ESN is one of the largest interdisciplinary student associations in Europe and is present in over 343 Higher Education Institutions in 34 countries. The network, a wild ornery beastie, is constantly expanding a developing. We, ESN-Bilkent, are the Bilkent branch of the organisation. We are responsible for those of you from far off lands who choose to attend Bilkent University as full-time or exchange students. In this we attempt to acclimate you to life at Bilkent, Ankara, and the country in general. We work directly with the Department of Students, allowing us liaise with the school administration, so you don’t have to. In a nutshell, we make your life easier. ESN Bilkent consists of full-time students, mostly Turkish, who know the lay of the land, speak passable English, are able to formulate creative responses to developing situations, and have an easy-going attitude. We expect our members to be more than just tour guides. They must have a good sense of responsibility, discipline, self-confidence, and open mind, and the ability to communicate with students coming from dozens of countries. We organise discounts, parties, national and international trips.
