Higher Reserve Staff Officer School (ESORSEM)

Founded in 1899, the ESORSEM (Higher Reserve Staff Officer School) provides high-level military training to reserve officers of the French Land Forces, with the aim of provididing the Army with personnel capable of holding responsibilities in operational joint staff positions, both in France and abroad. This demanding education, whose content is identical to that provided to active duty officers, benefits from arrangements that allow reserve trainees to balance their military commitment with their civilian responsibilities. The ESORSEM's programmes can be divided into two categories: - Curriculum courses, which train officers for (senior) staff positions at battalion, brigade & division levels ; - Adaptation courses, intended for personnel serving in territorial staffs.
