Espadrilles made my hand - Espadril represents the history and tradition of Spain. Our styles are the modern reinterpretation of the classic mediterranean espadrilles, the soul of summer romanticism. In 2014 with the dream to take the art of making espadrilles to African, Espadrilles founders South African Rizqah Issacs and Spanish Patricia Terre trained a team of women in this old Mediterranean craft and started producing their own espadrilles at Espadril's first store and workshop in the heart of Cape Town, where every pair was made to the customer's needs and specifications. Each and every part of the process is made by hand. As the company grew and transitioned to accommodate a demanding online market and expanded to international markets, production was moved to Spain, where expert hands give life to our designs. Espadril's African artisans are still a part of the team and produce small collections for the South African market. With designs inspired by the Mediterranean summer, Espadril wants to change the way the world understands espadrilles. We are slowly growing into new markets and spreading our love and passion for this art, which has almost disappeared.
