European Students, Sustainability Auditing

European Students, Sustainability Auditing (ESSA) is an Erasmus+ funded programme which sees trained student auditors delivering cross-national audits of European higher education institutions through a student-centred, action-reflection programme that encourages students to be active agents of their own learning. Students undergo a week-long training programme, accompanied by online learning, prior to delivering a 5 day audit according to the European Benchmark Standards for University Social Responsibility. Following the audit, students deliver a report summarising their findings and recommendations. Participating students also complete an assessment process for a Certificate in Social Responsibility Auditing (European Qualifications Framework Level 6).
