Advanced School of Mass Communication - ASMAC

The advanced school of mass communication (ASMAC) is an institution of higher learning focused on professionalism. Before becoming what it is today the government saw the need for opening up a communication school in Cameroon as a result of the changing times and in 1970 the l’Ecole Supérieure International de Journalisme de Yaounde (ESIJY) was birth then in 1981 it was changed to L’Ecole Supérieure des Science et Techniques de l'Information (ESSTI) to suite demand. The high need for professional training in 1991 led to the creation of new public fields known today as corporate communication which resulted in the present name ESSTIC. In 1994 three other fields were created: advertising, information and documentation and publishing. Today ASMAC is proud of five areas; journalism, corporate communication, advertising, information and documentation and publishing.
