ETB Global B.V. specializes in sustainable, bio-based processes with a unique catalyst developed from over 100 years of combined experience in the petrochemical industry. Our mission is to change the environmental footprint of daily used rubber and plastic products. Bio-Butadiene (Bio-BD) is the first chemical building block the company chose as a target focusing on bio-based ethanol as a feedstock. BD is a major building block for rubber and plastics used to produce car tires, toys, medical gloves, and other products.
The development of our technology was started in Moscow by a great team of renowned scientists and thought leaders in the field of heterogeneous catalysis synthesis, characterization and material and application sciences. In 2013 ETB CaT LLC, a Moscow-based company was incorporated to bring the emerging technology to the market. Between 2013 and 2020 the technology was developed from the lab to the pilot stage verifying the scalability of the reactor system and strong interest from the market.
ETB Global B.V. was established in 2020, after successfully completing the Redefining Chemistry program led by the Brightlands Chemelot Campus of the Brightlands Innovation Factory. With the European market eager to find sustainable solutions to pressing issues, such as the pollutive large production of BD and other building blocks, and Chemelot aiming to be the cleanest chemical hub in Europe by 2035, ETB has decided to grow its company and technology in Limburg, the Netherlands. ETB Global hold relevant patents in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, US, Canada, Mexico, and the Republic of South Africa.
Our goal is to lead the market with the most economical, low-LCA route to bio-butadiene, disrupting industry dynamics and reducing reliance on non-renewable resources. ETB Global is dedicated to scaling up production, driving a greener future for synthetic rubber and related industries.
