Various ethics projects are set up and supervised in health care institutions (psychiatry, parental care, general and academic hospitals and care for the mentally handicapped) by the department of Ethics, Law & Humanities, department of ethics support of the Amsterdam UMC (location VUmc). This often concerns multi-year projects aimed at ethical support in practice, which are offered in phases and using scientific evaluation research. One of the phases is transferring and securing expertise to guide methodical discussions on ethical issues. In that phase, the training for Moral Deliberation facilitators is an important part. To this end, the Ethics Support & Training section has developed various tailor-made in-company training courses and a general national training.
