ETIP Bioenergy

This project receives funding from the Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme (G.A. 101075503). The European Technology and Innovation Platform ETIP Bioenergy is an industry-led stakeholder platform that brings together relevant actors from academia, industry, and civil society, engaged in the development of sustainable bioenergy and competitive biofuel technologies. One major task of ETIP Bioenergy is to address current technical and economic barriers hindering a sound development and commercial deployment of bioenergy technologies, with the goal to reach a widespread sustainable exploitation of biomass resources. ETIP Bioenergy represents a privileged channel of communication with the EC on topics related to advanced biofuels and intermediate energy carriers. The platform is officially recognized by the European Commission as the main interlocutor for DG-RTD in the bioenergy sector, in particular to implement the Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan on biofuels and bioenergy. A relevant success for all the experts working in the platform was reached on 13 June 2018, when the SET-Plan Steering Group approved the Implementation Plan of SET-Plan Action 8: Bioenergy and Renewable Fuels for Sustainable Transport. As an industry-led stakeholder forum, the ETIP Bioenergy has the role to represent the unbiased, united, and consolidated view of the biofuels and bioenergy industry in Europe. At the same time, consolidating the expertise and knowledge of leading European industries and researchers, ETIP Bioenergy constitutes an important European hub for the dissemination of technology-neutral fact-based information on advanced bioenergy and innovative industrial models.
