East Turkistan National Movement

The East Turkistan National Movement (ETNM) also known as the East Turkistan National Awakening Movement (ETNAM) is an international youth-led organization seeking to restore the independence of East Turkistan. We promote and protect the fundamental rights, freedoms, and national interest of the people of East Turkistan (Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Uzbeks, Tatars, etc) both within East Turkistan and abroad. From its very inception ETNM emerged as an active force with clear aims and objectives. It also served as a catalyst to bring out certain reforms and changes within the East Turkistan / Uyghur community so as to enhance the development of truly democratic society. ETNM therefore, sees itself as an instrument. Being a national movement, activities of ETNM is not restricted just to its members, as it also receives the active support of all East Turkistanis (Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Uzbeks, and Tatars) – young and old, men and women, intellectuals, business owners , religious scholars and lay.
