The European Union is represented in Switzerland and Liechtenstein by the Bern Delegation. We work in close coordination with the Embassies of the 27 EU Member States.
We are a full-fledged diplomatic mission and represent the European Union in dealings with the Swiss and Liechtenstein government in areas that are part of the EU’s remit.
We promote EU policies in Switzerland, which includes presenting and explaining EU actions to the political actors at federal and cantonal levels.
By engaging with political parties, business, social partners, media, academia and civil society, we raise awareness of EU issues and concerns and promote the relationship with our host countries. The EU Delegation in Bern was opened in 2007.
