EU PAL-COPD, a five-year research project funded by Horizon Europe, aims to advance the integration of palliative care in the treatment routine of people with advanced Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in different healthcare systems in Europe.
Coordinated by the End-of-Life Care Research Group of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the project brings together a multidisciplinary consortium of 13 partners from seven European countries. The EU PAL-COPD consortium will conduct the first large-scale international trial systematically integrating palliative care into respiratory care in 18 hospitals across six European countries.
