About EU4OceanObs
The need to observe the ocean has never been greater. Ocean observations are critical to understanding and adapting to climate change, protecting marine resources and biodiversity, supporting a sustainable blue economy, and bolstering coastal resilience. Ocean observation is the first link in the value chain that runs from observations to data, models, services, actionable information, and knowledge. This value chain supports and guides European and international ocean, climate, and biodiversity policies. EU4OceanObs aims to catalyse essential partnerships between European and international infrastructures and programmes across the ocean observing value chain, advancing coordinated, fit-for-purpose, global ocean observations. It does this by primarily working with the G7 Future of the Seas and Ocean Initiative (G7FSOI), the GEO Blue Planet Initiative. EU4OceanObs also supports European engagement with the international community and for the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
