EU Delegation to Ukraine

The Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Ukraine is one of over 130 EU diplomatic missions worldwide. Established in Kyiv in September 1993 as the Delegation of the European Commission, it was officially transformed into the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine on 1 December 2009, following the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty. The Delegation represents the EU in Ukraine and maintains diplomatic relations with Ukrainian authorities, civil society, and key stakeholders. It plays a vital role in fostering political, economic, and cultural ties between the EU and Ukraine, providing analyses and reports on developments in the country. Another key function of the Delegation is to inform the Ukrainian government and the wider public about EU policies, institutions, and initiatives. It regularly organises events, seminars, and outreach activities to strengthen public understanding of the EU and its long-standing cooperation with Ukraine.
