About EUMA Project
EUMA aims to strengthen disaster risk management in Europe by improving the capabilities of civil protection systems. With increasing challenges like environmental degradation and global warming, there is a growing need for skilled individuals to anticipate and handle crises effectively. EUMA's main goal is to create a European network of institutions offering specialised postgraduate Master's degree programs in disaster risk and crisis management. Through activities such as workshops, summer schools and publications, we encourage collaboration within the Union Civil Protection Knowledge Network. Additionally, our feasibility study seeks to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in existing high-level educational programmes for professionals. By sharing knowledge and enhancing preparedness across Europe, EUMA aims to establish common standards for disaster management education. Ultimately, we aim to make university education for disaster managers more accessible, contributing to better disaster risk management practices throughout Europe.
