Present in Romania since the early 2000s with the brand and range of Rustica seeds, Euralis Group is one of the largest cooperatives in France (15,000 farmers adherents) and one of the largest French and European agro-industrial groups (5,000 employees, 1.3 billion euro turnover in 2009). Euralis is thus the largest collector of maize in Europe (over 1 million tonnes of maize collected annually) and the largest producer of duck liver, goose and gastronomic products thereof ("foie gras"). The Seeds Division of Euralis Semences group is one of the top European players in this field and specialized in the production of hybrid seeds for all major crops, both field technical crops and oil crops (winter and spring oilseed rape, sunflower) and grain (maize , sorghum). Undisputed market leader in Romania in winter rape seed segment starting from the very beginning, Euralis introduced in Romania the first hybrid winter rape immediately after it succeeded to be the first company to put a hybrid (Elite) of this species in a European official catalog (1999, France).
