European Experiences

European Experiences offers small group "slow" tours in some of Europe’s most beautiful places. Most of our tours base for one week in one place, usually a village or small town in the countryside. We visit what’s nearby and focus on an immersion in the history, culture, traditions, cuisine, and natural surroundings of the area. We especially enjoy connections with local people. We stay in comfortable, locally-owned hotels that always offer our groups a warm welcome. From our first groups in Provence in 2006, we wanted to host trips that didn’t feel like a tour. Our trips feel like traveling with a small group of friends and like-minded travel companions. We’re a small company, focused on personal relationships with our travelers and with our local partners and friends. All of our trips are led by owner Kathy Wood or by Jennifer Dugdale, joined by a team of enthusiastic co-leaders. We have a special commitment to helping women travel and offer several women-only trips every year. We host trips in three different areas of Provence (the Luberon, the Mediterranean coast, and the hills above the Riviera); Alsace; the Dordogne; Paris; Normandy; the Chianti region of Tuscany; Puglia; the Cotswolds; Bath; and Cornwall. We also offer a 12-night Christmas tour based in Salzburg, Austria; Munich, Germany; and Colmar in Alsace, France. Our newest trip is The Morocco Experience, which will be launched in early 2024. From the personal nature of our leadership and communication to the careful consideration given to every aspect of our trips, we provide travelers an outstanding value.
