Europrivacy criteria enable to check, document, certify, and demonstrate compliance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It enables data controllers and processors to reduce their risks and value their compliance. It is the most comprehensive instrument to systematically check and validate regulatory compliance. It is applicable to any data processing activities, including emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and blockchain. It is also extendable to complementary EU regulations (such as ePrivacy, Data Act, Data Governance Act) and non-EU data protection regulations (UK, Switzerland, etc.). It enables to build trust and confidence in GDPR and regulatory compliance.
Europrivacy is supported by a global ecosystem of official partners, including the largest certification bodies, law firms, consulting companies, and solution providers. It has been developed through the European research programme with the financial support of the European Commission. It is managed by the European Centre for Certification and Privacy (ECCP) in Luxembourg under the supervision of the Europrivacy International Board of Experts in data protection and certification, gathering international experts in data protection regulations and certification.
