Evaluation by Design was founded in 2020 by Dr. Jason Ravitz, an evaluation and research professional with 25+ years experience driving strategy, implementation, insights and impact measurement for educational technology pioneers. We are passionate about using evaluation and research to help you learn, improve and grow your impact.
Our accomplishments include widely-cited measures and studies involving project-based learning for the Buck Institute for Education (now PBLWorks); evaluation capacity building and STEM-CS education at Google, and school coaching at Digital Promise. We have supported a national and state-level data strategies for school based health centers (SBHCs), subcontracted on food and health initiatives, received evaluation awards to support grants totaling more than $4M from NIH, Dept. of Ed, and NSF projects, and helped launch the Last Mile Education Fund.
