Evant is a joint venture between Adelaide based Fusion Capital, the investment fund behind Brabham Automotive and Precision Buses, and Nexport, an Australian owned new energy transport company specialising in delivering the latest global transport technology to the Australian market. Evant have partnered with the world's largest manufacturer of electric cars, BYD Co. to collaborate on the development, production and delivery of electric passenger cars for the Australasian right hand drive market. The strategic partnership will extend to delivering solutions and products which meet both the electric passenger cars and infrastructure market requirements across Australasia. “EVANT wants to develop a sustainable industry here that is Australian owned with a product range designed to suit Australian conditions. The EVANT electric vehicles will include premium features with high-tech interiors, and importantly, for Australia, the models will have range capability of up to 650 kilometres per charge and will be fast charge enabled. EVANT’s mission is to provide Australian consumers with the ability to live an environmentally sustainable lifestyle without compromise,” Luke Todd, Director of Nexport. EVANT has confirmed that there will be 3 variants of passenger vehicle in the initial offering. This will include a seven seater SUV, a mid-sized SUV and a family sedan based on proven existing product architecture. A fully optimised vehicle designed and built for the Australian market is anticipated to be available for customer order as early as Q1 2020 with deliveries commencing in the fourth quarter of 2020. Prices and vehicle specifications will be released later this year.
