Since our inception on December 23, 1950, under the Municipal Water District Act of 1911, we have upheld a steadfast mission: to deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality water to nearly 160,000 residents across our service area. At EVMWD, we recognize the critical role that engineering, infrastructure, responsible management, and strategic governance play in fulfilling our mandate. With a focus on sustainability and innovation, we work tirelessly to secure our water supply, managing approximately 7.5 billion gallons annually. Our public non-profit agency operates under the oversight of a dedicated Board of Directors, empowered to establish policy, rates, and fees to support the ongoing enhancement of our services and infrastructure. As a special district, EVMWD's responsibilities extend beyond water provision to encompass water supply development, wastewater treatment and disposal, and recycling initiatives. With over 42,000 connections serving water, wastewater, and agricultural needs, we remain steadfast in our commitment to excellence and community service. EVMWD proudly operates as a sub-agency of the Western Municipal Water District, aligning with the broader goals of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
