Evolve & Flourish Ltd was established with the aims of normalising conversations about death, dying and loss, and building stronger community support networks for those who are becoming more socially isolated whether that be due to living with a life limiting condition, approaching end of life, being a care giver, or coping with grief. At Evolve & Flourish we adopt a community development model of practice. We value the treasures and gifts that communities hold. We work alongside them to co-develop training workshops and new networks of support, building on existing assets and strengths. We provide grief awareness training and educational events to upskill and empower community members to have supportive conversations; to be able to provide practical support confidently, signpost where necessary, and to develop opportunities within their neighbourhoods for people to connect with others. Having had experience of working with many different marginalised communities, charities and community groups, Evolve & Flourish have the confidence and skills to engage and create collaborative partnerships to achieve positive outcomes. We know that people generally shy away from talking about death. As a society we still regard such conversations as taboo. But at Evolve & Flourish we strongly believe that these conversations are vitally important to have. We advocate that dying and end of life planning should be routine for everyone, that conversations about end of life should be normalised. Evolve & Flourish use a wide range of activities to engage people in conversations about planning for end of life and preparing for death. We host educational events, creative workshops, and cafes, and work in partnership with photographers, musicians, poets and artists to engage people to think about their own end of life wishes in creative ways. Evolve & Flourish are always keen to work collaboratively with other organisations.
