Evolve Project

As the world changes, so do the needs of people. By this, so do the ways libraries have to respond to the community. Prior to the "technology influx", libraries focused on a large collection; it was guarded and protected. Little space to sit, and a focus on shelves, shelves, and then, some more shelves. As computers became more necessary, some shelves were sacrificed at the dismay of libraries to put in small labs. Now, the need to change again is even greater. With all the new and exciting technology out there, a library needs to be fully equipped with that technology, since that is what the general populous is concerned about. Most importantly, its staff needs to be prepared and trained to use the technology so they can share their positive experience with their community. The more innovative a library becomes, the more important a library is. A library needs to become more of a place of technology with room to learn, build, design, talk, interact and explore. A library HAS to focus its efforts on seating space, building space, and play space. The Mission of Evolve Project The Evolve Project will bring institutions into the future, through innovative and interactive technologies and designs; inspiring exploration and collaboration to push people beyond the digital age.
