Mixmind Art & Design Co., Ltd was founded in 1996. Believing in the “value of creativity”, it endeavors to transform the originality into the intellectual clothing and a contemporary lifestyle. EXCEPTION de MIXMIND, born upon the establishment of the company in 1996, has become the longest-existing and one of the most successful designer brands in China. It has more than 60 shops and corners located in the most major cities across the country. EXCEPTION believes that woman has no deficiency but difference, that clothing is a mean to deliver one’s self-consciousness of the taste refinement. It helps to achieve a lifestyle of the modern Chinese women: being intellectual and aspiring for spiritual freedom; being independent and life-devoted; being open-minded to art, literature and new thoughts; being comprehensive and well-meaning, leisurely enjoying one’s life. The other independent brand WUYONG (useless) was founded by the artistic director Ma Ke in early 2006. It is a further exploration in the field of contemporary art and quest for the extensive value of life. Debuted on February 25th 2007 at Paris Fashion Week, the innovative conception soon becomes a focus of attention in the international fashion and art industry. In 2008, as the first Chinese designer invited to Paris Haute Couture Week, Ma Ke presented her WUYONG collection on the official calendar. The most influential French newspaper 《Le Monde》had it reported on the front page entitled “The Carol of Nature from Ma Ke” “…It re-defines the luxury of haute couture…”
