Exciting Technology is the premier supplier of short-range free space lasercom, lidars for specific applications, and optical beam steering capabilities. Based out of the University of Dayton, Exciting Technology was founded by Dr. Paul McManamon in 2008. Under Dr. McManamon’s leadership and the expert group of scientists on staff, Exciting Technology has made strides in the lasercom field with products, projects, publications, and patents. Exciting Technology has been awarded eleven research and funding projects within the past six years ranging from Beam Steering, Laser Vibrometry, and Crystal Growth Risk Reduction. In addition, four patents are pending under Drs McManamon, Ataei, and Dierking. From digital publications and printed books, Exciting Technology is a respected voice in the lidar and lasercom fields. About Exciting Technology's founder, Dr. Paul McManamon: After retiring as the Chief Scientist for the Air Force Research Lab, Dr. McManamon started consulting through Exciting Technology. Since then, he has published “Field Guide to Lidar” and “Lidar Technologies and Systems” and is the recent recipient of the Joseph W. Goodman book award.
