The Office of Executive Inspector General (“OEIG”) acts as an independent office whose objective is to promote the highest standards of ethics within the Office of the Illinois State Treasurer. We accomplish this task by providing each employee with knowledge and information regarding the laws, regulations and policies related to their work through education and training efforts. The OEIG investigates allegations of fraud, waste and abuse. Specifically, the OEIG investigates Ethics Act violations, policy infractions or other forms of misconduct by employees, appointees, elected officials and vendors under its jurisdiction. The OEIG does not represent any party or agency in an investigation, nor does it investigate on behalf of any individual or agency.
