Exlumina | Powering the Final Frontier
Exlumina is a space startup building the first orbital laser power grid to deliver energy-as-a-service in space. Our Everlight system replaces heavy solar panels and batteries on satellites with wireless laser-based power transmission — enabling lighter, more capable missions with continuous power delivery, even in eclipse zones and deep space.
The network includes:
Hyperion – solar-powered laser transmitters in orbit
IRIS – relay satellites that route laser energy across orbits
EOS – compact receiver modules integrated into client satellites
We’re planning to offer scalable, on-demand orbital power for satellite constellations, space stations, and interplanetary missions. Power will be sold on a per-kWh basis, creating a new utility layer in space.
Founded in Germany with global operations, we’re currently at TRL 4, with a TRL 7 orbital demo planned via Falcon 9. Exlumina is the only company purpose-built for space-to-space energy delivery.
Our mission: to build the infrastructure for a Kardashev Type II civilization.
