Exploit4InnoMat

Exploit4InnoMat is an ambitious 4-year project, launched on January 1st, 2023, and funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe Program. This project seeks to drive sustainable innovation across Europe in the design, upscaling, and validation of innovative material concepts, focusing on the creation of an open innovation test bed (OITB) network for building envelopes. The primary goal is to support the European Commission's target for nearly Zero Energy Buildings (nZEB), offering scalable and practical solutions for the future of sustainable construction. With a consortium of 27 partners from 11 European countries, Turkey, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, Exploit4InnoMat is developing state-ofthe-art sustainable materials and products. These include nano-enabled cement, non-cement premixes, ceramics, advanced coatings, and glazing solutions enhanced with aerogels, fibers, phase change materials (PCMs), and other advanced nanomaterials. These materials are engineered to deliver multifunctional properties, such as: • Enhanced insulation performance • Reduction of thermal bridges • Energy harvesting and storage • Lower embodied energy • Creation of healthier, more comfortable indoor environments Through this collaborative effort, Exploit4InnoMat aims to provide sustainable, high-performance materials that will contribute to the construction of energyefficient, eco-friendly buildings across Europe, helping to shape the future of the built environment.
