FabLanka Foundation

FabLanka Foundation is a not-for-profit social enterprise incorporated in 2016 to introduce Industry 4.0 technologies for socio- economic development in Sri Lanka by marching towards a “Makers Society”. Our team of co-founders is composed of professionally achieved individuals working in Sri Lanka & internationally. Over the years, FabLanka Foundation has conducted many public outreach programs to educate Sri Lankans across the country on the impact of Industry 4.0 and how the nation can gain the benefits of this digital revolution by following an inclusive approach. FabLanka has worked in collaboration with schools, Universities, government agencies and professional bodies. FabLanka’s fully-fledged Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab Makandura) managed by volunteers acts as a centre for innovation, a community centre and a technology lab. The Foundation financed by donations and project funding. The objectives and strategies are as follows, 1. To use Industry 4.0 teachnologies for empowerment and economic development of a rural community in Sri Lanka. 2. To work actively for knowledge sharing, enhance innovation and technology transfer in community development. 3. To practise multi- stakeholder approach with the participation and the consultation of Universities, the government, private sector, NGOs, community and other key players. Our Vision is that Sri Lanka will embrace the power of Digital Manufacturing Technology in transforming the country to a manufacturing based economy. Our Mission is to provide opportunities to innovate and build almost anything that could improve the quality of life of all Sri Lankans.
