Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Sohag university

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Sohag University was established by Presidential Decree No. 324 in 2007, and officially began its academic activities in 2008 following the approval of the Supreme Council of Universities in its session No. 491 held on Sunday, September 7, 2008. Initially, the faculty operated from a building at the old campus of Sohag University. In July 2016, it was relocated to a new building at the university's new campus in the city of Al-Kawamel. The building comprises an administrative unit and another unit for laboratories and scientific departments. The faculty is also affiliated with a clinical hospital in the village of Al-Sal'a, which serves the residents of the governorate and provides training for students and graduates. Our Vision: The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Sohag University aims to prepare distinguished veterinary doctors who are capable of competing locally and regionally, and to conduct research and provide services that meet the needs of the surrounding community, in line with the college's mission and quality and accreditation standards. Our Mission: The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine seeks to obtain academic accreditation by developing the educational and research environment, preparing highly competent faculty and administrative staff, and graduating distinguished veterinary doctors who are well-equipped for the job market, to serve the community and develop the environment. Strategic Goals: First Goal: Enhance institutional capacity. Second Goal: Lead the development in veterinary education. Third Goal: Achieve excellence in scientific research. Fourth Goal: Strengthen community service and environmental development.
