A new craft distillery on the Faroe Islands producing whisky, gin and akvavit. Faer Isles Distillery wants to benefit from the unique natural environment on these remote islands in the middle of the North Atlantic, where the North Atlantic Current ensures a humid climate with year-round stable temperature and a very salty wind - the perfect environment to mature whisky.
In 2018, test production started, and in 2021 the commercial production of whisky and gin will begin. Our first gin will hit the market in Q3 2021.
In 2020 we reached out to whisky and gin enthusiast all over the world and established a Founders' Club with 1100 members from 25 countries. The philosophy is to make Faer Isles Distillery a community project, so in March 2021 we started our crowdfunding project,, inviting people all over the world to become shareholders in the company.
Faer Isles Distillery will be the first distillery in the world to allow cryptocurrency as payment for shares and also probably one of the first distilleries to integrate blockchain technology in our business model.
