Fagoterapia LAB is the first Italy-based startup developing antimicrobial therapy based on bacteriophages and their derivatives for treating antibiotic-resistant infections by using innovative tools of artificial intelligence for either standard or personalised cures.
Bacteriophages (or phage) are viruses capable of selectively and exclusively killing bacteria, which cannot be treated with any other available antimicrobials.
Currently, phage therapy is the most promising alternative to fight antibiotic resistance.
