Fahr Beyond is a small but ambitious charity working to raise awareness of the neurodegenerative Fahr's Disease/Syndrome and Fahr's like conditions.
We aim to support those with Fahr's and their families, to help signpost them to other well placed support organisations; and to provide meaningful information and holistic support. We aim to increase the medical profession's awareness of this disease and the ramifications of not getting the correct diagnosis of Fahr's.
In time we hope to build the capacity to run a UK wide support network, especially once medical professionals are more able to recognise, diagnose, and manage Fahr's Disease. We have a huge responsibility as the UK's first Fahr's Disease Charity and only the second in the World (the only other known charity to have operated was in North America). It is thought that as many as 1 in 200 people diagnosed with Parkinson's or Alzheimer's actually have Fahr's Disease/Syndrome. We also hope to support further medical research into Fahr's and to create the UK's first dedicated Fahr's specialist.
As with any charity funding and fundraising will be the key to ensuring we can fulfil our goals, and therefore are open to partners or sponsors who will support Fahr Beyond, we are committed to transparent good governance.
