The Fair Internship Initiative (FII) is a youth-run volunteer based network of glocal action groups strategically placed in major UN cities: New York City, Nairobi, Geneva and more.
The FII believes that unpaid internships (especially) at the United Nations represent a discriminatory practice. The FII aims at generating discussion and solutions to ensure that UN internship programmes remain valuable, regulated and sustainable, whilst promoting equality, maintaining transparency and protecting the rights and welfare of all interns.
The FII calls for UN organizations to be coherent with their own principles and values, as well as with the development objectives enshrined in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The FII is a proud member of the Global Intern Coalition, a network of organizations aiming to improve workplace rights for interns worldwide.
