Starting in 1975, two visionaries named Peter Vogel and Kim Ryrie combined their love of music and fascination with the emerging computer revolution to create what has become a heritage of digital audio firsts that transformed the music, post-production and broadcast industries, and helped position them on a course through the next century."
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the sale of the first CMI systems, my newly-formed company Fairlight Instruments is producing a limited edition 30th Anniversary model, the Fairlight CMI–30A.
The 30A will have the look and feel of the original instrument, but use the latest technology to provide a much more powerful and reliable instrument at a fraction of the cost of the original.
A roadmap is being developed for a range of subsequent products which build on this technology.
