Faktograf - Association for the Informed Public

Faktograf - Association for the Informed Public is a non-profit media organization based in Zagreb, Croatia. Our Association is dedicated to the development of good journalism, critical thinking and informed public. For us, good journalism places things in context, emphasizes what is relevant and elaborates what is unclear. The Association is the publisher of Faktograf.hr - the first Croatian fact-checking outlet, as well as of “The Climate Portal” which operates based on the principles of solutions journalism and exposes and counters misinformation related to the climate crisis. Additionally, Faktograf engages in watchdog and advocacy activities regarding media freedoms, disinformation, and democracy. Faktograf is a part of International Fact Checking Network (IFCN), and European Fact Checking Standards Network (EFCSN), and a member of SEE Check - the network that Faktograf co-founded with colleagues from the same language area of South-Eastern Europe. Faktograf is also a signatory to the strengthened Code of Practice on Disinformation. Faktograf produces research and analysis, among others: a pioneering study on “Harassment of Fact-checking Media Outlets in Europe” – Survey; an in depth analysis of harassment campaigns against Faktograf When disinformation campaigns fuel hate and harassment – Case study: Faktograf.hr and an analysis on climate misinformation titled "Fabricating Doubt and Persecuting Science" published in 2024.
