Alongside the daily increase in population, issues such as protein resource supply have become more important, focusing on sustainable development and increasing the productivity of livestock and agricultural products, biosecurity, access to healthy nutrition resources, and the presence of drugs and toxins is becoming more evident in food more than ever before. Farzanegan Kish is one of the subsidiaries of the HITCO Holding, which initiated its activities in 2004, in Kish Island’s Industrial area, Kish Free Zone, to produce medical equipment. In 2020, considering the assessment of the domestic market’s needs, as well as the regional countries’ incapability for effective pharmaceutical production, in controlling common contagious diseases in the livestock and poultry industry, the possibility of producing these products came under consideration. In this regard, negotiations were held with one of the reputable international companies that manufacture specific veterinary drugs. Their products were previously imported because we did not have the technology to produce them domestically. After signing a cooperation and licensed production contract and with the consultation of the experts of that company, alongside utilizing the skills and experiences of local specialists and using domestic machinery and equipment, Farzanegan Kish established a production line for veterinary pharmaceutical solutions. Currently, Farzanegan Kish is striving to increase the country’s economic productivity in the livestock and poultry industry and enhance the health of animal products. This will also lead to saving resources and also the possibility of exporting its products to neighboring countries, all while achieving this by gaining technical knowledge and indigenization of the production of quality pharmaceutical products.
