At the Institute LITES, we focus on: * Circuit design, RF microwaves, communications, transmit/receive techniques, radar, semiconductor technologies, microsystem technologies, antennas, digital signal processing (DSP), artificial intelligence (AI), and software for microelectronic systems. * Designing, modeling, and prototyping of active/passive components and modules for RF/analog/mixed-signal integrated circuits (IC) and systems. * Creating and prototyping solutions that encompass chip, SoC, and system design, algorithms, DSP, and FPGA-based prototyping on software-defined radio (SDR) platforms, as well as IC, ASIC, and PCB design, packaging, tape-outs, and testing and verification in our labs. Our work spans wireless and wired communications, radar, JCAS/ISAC/RadCom, and sensor applications across various industries, including automotive, medical, industrial, multimedia, logistics, and smart cities. * Physical Layer (PHY) and Medium Access Control (MAC) design, algorithms, and DSP implementation for advanced wireless and wired communications systems from DC to THz spectrum. * Developing cutting-edge solutions for 5G/6G communications systems, with a strong emphasis on resilience, trustworthiness, and security. * Radio channel sounding, characterization, and modeling. * LITES’s laboratories are equipped with modern facilities for the design, simulation, implementation, and experimental characterization of electronic circuits and systems operating at frequencies exceeding 500 GHz. Advanced high-tech processes are employed in collaboration with our partners to implement algorithms. *At LITES, junior scientists, emerging academics, and students can enjoy an outstanding research environment. * Supported by a vast network of research institutions and industry partners, we are poised to tackle the future challenges of electronics, communications, and sensing systems innovation. LITES has about 90 staff members.
