Favela Sounds

Favela Sounds is a Brazilian content platform focused on slum culture. Debuted as a festival in Brasilia, Brazil's capital, in 2016, and its mission is to create opportunities for black people and the favela's youth onto creative market. As the Slum's Culture International Festival, annually holds a November edition, connecting artists from the Diaspora around the world to talents from Brazilian favelas. It operates in several territories and communities, promoting workshops in the creative field, debates in public schools, activities aimed at social reintegration in units of the Socio-Educational System, acceleration and training processes to favela's youngsters interested in the music market, international artistic residencies in slums and more. It has already mobilized more than 300 thousand people in its activities, virtually and in person.
