Doxa Vyronos FC

Doxa Vironos FC is an amateur football club based in Vyronas, an eastern suburb of Athens playing in the 1st Division of Athens Local Championships . The club was founded in 1945. In 1980, under the guidance and financial support of chairman Staikos, Doxa managed to emerge from the amateur championships and gradually reach the National 2nd Division in 1991-92 and for the following 10 years the club participated 6 times in the Second Tier of Greek Football. The last participation in the National 2nd Division followed by severe financial problems and Doxa Vironos were rapidly relegated level after level all the way down to the lowest division of Athens Local Championships. Doxa Vironos FC is now owned by the fans through a mutual member industrial and currently the club is about to initiate a fundraising project in order to gain professional status.
