Firepool Centre for Digital Innovation

The Firepool Centre for Digital Innovation (FCDI) is a 2,493 square metre innovation facility in the heart of Taunton providing a focal point for the growth and evolution of the digital sector in Somerset. As well as providing dedicated space for digital sector businesses, the Centre seeks to create an innovation ecosystem delivering specialist support services for users, tenants and the wider digital business base. FCDI was built with sustainability being an integral part of the process. The elements of integrated sustainable design meant that we achieved a BREEAM score of 76.3% (Excellent). BREEAM is the world-leading sustainability assessment method for the built environment and infrastructure. The Centre aims to support: • new innovation focussed projects and collaborations • an increase in knowledge intensive activities • the identification of new markets, products and services • greater knowledge transfer • the development of a skilled digital workforce
