The Florida Chapter of the International Association of Assessing Officers (FCIAAO) was founded in 1987 to assist in the advancement of the objectives of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) within the State of Florida.
The objectives are to:
•Develop professionalism in assessment administration
•Raise the standards of the profession
•Gain recognition of the assessing profession by governmental authorities
•Gain member recognition as qualified, objective, and unbiased assessors of property values
•Work to educate the public regarding the ad valorem tax system
•Work to provide a clearing house for the collection and distribution of useful information relating to assessment practice, and in every proper way, to promote justice and equity in the distribution of the tax burden
