Typically, early-stage software companies believe they have a value prop that conveys to government, and hire an FTE. They’ll retain a Recruiter to find the “Best Federal Guy” and begin their journey. Some will have the advice of VCs, and/or other retired government consultants to “open doors”. Other options include expensive time-consuming group settings or “co-horts” that may be appropriate for later stage consideration. These approaches cost companies hundreds of thousands of dollars. Worse, companies may also embark on FedRamp (if SaaS) and spend over a Million dollars, to discover they simply did not have the right GTM plan in place, from the very beginning.
