The Faculty of Electrical Engineering UWB | FEL UWB is one of the most modernly equipped electrical engineering faculties in Europe with a long tradition. We cooperate with more than 70 universities and research institutes worldwide. We prepare specialists for professions in various fields not only in electrical engineering (electronics, information and communication technologies, power electronics, electrical machines, theoretical electrical engineering, computer modelling, diagnostics, special materials and technologies for electrical engineering, etc.) but also in the fundamentals of law, economics, the management or project management and many other fields that drive contemporary society.
RICE - Research and Innovation Centre for Electrical Engineering - is a research centre of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen and a trademark for cutting-edge research and development.
RICE provides a complete research chain from basic (theoretical) research to the development of functional samples and prototypes and their complete testing. The Centre's laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and unique technologies. The research teams have top-class research infrastructures available, such as an indoor laboratory for high-voltage power electronics and transport technologies, special laboratories for materials and technology research including so-called "clean rooms," microscopy laboratories, EMC, X-ray diagnostics laboratories, acoustic laboratories, and others.
RICE research teams collaborate with world-renowned organizations, research centres, universities, and industrial partners at home and abroad.
