Let’s Understand Well-Being in a Way That Is Helpful... For those of us who work with youth and young adults (parents included!), we need useful frameworks and practical tools. Increased stressors and decreased coping mechanisms have led many youth and adults to struggle more and feel less resilient. Based on your role (camp counselor, teacher, coach, parent) and your setting (camp, school, extracurricular, or home) your approach to supporting youth will be different. But many of the fundamental principles and best practices need only slight adaptation to work for you. With a functional approach to mental health and specific techniques for supporting youth and adults who are struggling, anyone can feel more competent after taking these courses, while remaining within the boundaries of their role and their responsibilities.
