Ferentis

Ferentis is a research-intensive biotechnology company involved in the development, production and commercialisation of biomimetic peptides and peptide-based scaffolds for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. Ferentis was established in Vilnius, Lithuania, by a group of scientists and entrepreneurs from Canada, Lithuania, Sweden and India. The idea of establishing the company comes from collaborative research of its founders in the development of “smart” biomaterials that can promote regeneration of tissue cells within the patient without any need of long-term immunosuppressive drugs. Our group combines a unique combination of skills, state-of-the-art scientific research and experience in the fields of biomaterials‘ enhanced cell regeneration, medicinal chemistry, peptidomimetics and surface nano technology. Ferentis‘ range of products includes designer mimics of the biologically-active extracellular matrix of the body that serves as scaffolding and glue to keep the body intact, as well as provides the instructions for repair and regeneration of tissues and organs. Ferentis’ goal is to supply these in form of coatings and kits for in vitro systems. We will also assist our clients in custom-design of biomimetic materials as templates for stimulating regeneration of target tissues and organs for potential clinical application.
