We are a group of teachers from the Energy Department of the University of Oviedo who have been collaborating for many years. Seven teachers in a broad spectre from full to assistant professor, mentoring a group of PhDs and postdocs.
During the last years, we have dealt with several research lines:
- Axial fans performance analysis
- Noise reduction and improve performance of centrifugal fans
- Aeroacoustics
- Nozzle jets and multihole nozzles for wiping systems
- Positive displacement pumps
- Vertical Axis Wind Turbines
- Turbines for wave energy
- CFD…almost for anything containing a fluid…
All the topics from both experimental and computational techniques.
Our background in these topics is well founded as it is proved by the large number of publications and projects with external companies. We have developed projects for many partners such as ArcelorMittal, Gateway Asia, Saint-Gobain, Hispacold, ThyssenKrupp, etc.
Our computing power, based on a simulation cluster, and our large developed skills in CFD techniques allow us to face almost any problem from the computational point of view.
Besides, the installations in the fluid Mechanics Lab of the Energy department are well provided for testing turbomachines, analyse the performance of air compressed nozzles, make aeroacoustics test for any device….and many more.
