Poor record-keeping remains one of the most persistent challenges in African agriculture. Research shows that many farmers still rely on memory, paper notebooks, or scattered spreadsheets to track their operations, resulting in missed insights, poor planning, and financial losses. These habits tend to limit visibility into farm performance as a result of the lack of detailed farm data. We’re building Fern – a cloud-based farm management platform tailored specifically for African farmers and agribusiness owners. With Fern, farmers can digitally store both financial and production farm records, manage multiple farms from a single dashboard, generate performance reports, and access their farm data anytime, anywhere. Fern aims to offer solutions for different farm types (i.e crops, poultry, livestock & fishery) uniquely suited for their respective workflow and needs as agribusiness entities.
