Fernau Solution's mission is to ‘level the playing field’ for SMEs in government contracts by: - helping SMEs to bid for, win, and keep, public sector contracts - giving SMEs the understanding of the public sector that incumbent large suppliers already have - enabling SMEs to understand the specific needs of central government, and how procurement decisions are made and who makes them Fernau Solutions was founded by John Fernau, after a 17 year career in public procurement, most recently as Commercial Director of the Home Office and before that the Head of Procurement at the Olympic Delivery Authority. Frustrated by the advantages incumbent government suppliers have over new entrants, especially SMEs, John founded Fernau Solutions to help redress this imbalance and to help SMEs to compete on more equal terms. Fernau Solutions enables SMEs to compete in public sector markets on the same basis as large, established suppliers, resulting in greater success for SMEs in public sector markets, diversification of the supplier base in those markets, greater competition for public spend, and growth in UK enterprise.
