Financial Intelligence Agency (Bermuda)

The Financial Intelligence Agency (FIA) serves as Bermuda’s national centre for the receipt, analysis, and dissemination of financial intelligence derived from Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and other mandated disclosures under Bermuda’s Anti-Money Laundering, Countering the Financing of Terrorism, and Proliferation Financing (AML/CFT/CPF) framework. As a core component of Bermuda’s financial crime architecture, the FIA plays a strategic and operational role in identifying, assessing, and responding to money laundering, terrorist financing, and related threats — both domestically and internationally — in close coordination with law enforcement, regulators, supervisory authorities, and international partners. The FIA is an active member of the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units, and operates in alignment with the Egmont Group Statement of Purpose, including its Principles for Information Exchange. Our operations are further guided by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Recommendations and the outcomes of Bermuda’s National Risk Assessments.
